TRiO Experience:

2026–Present – TRiO Student Support Services Academic Advisor, University of Missouri

Prior to joining TRiO, I spent more than 18 years working in higher education as a college instructor, professional writing tutor, and Writing Center Coordinator. My work has focused on helping students find their voices, navigate challenges, and recognize that they belong in higher education!

Q&A:

Favorite spot in Columbia? 9th Street

Favorite spot on campus? Ellis Library

Fueled by: Ibuprofen, caffeine, and optimism!

Current vibe: Creative!  I’m putting the final touches on my YA novel Banished Monkey Island due out this year!

My college advice:
You don’t have to have everything figured out, and you don’t have to do college exactly like everyone else does. Ask questions, find your crew, use the resources available to you, and give yourself permission to change directions if you need to. Remember, you belong here even on the days when it doesn’t feel like it!
